PETER POPOVICH It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father, Gigi and Didi. A great man was called home to his heavenly reward on September 14 at the age of 75. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Elizabeth (Bea) of 47 years; three daughters, Judy Bruce-Smith, Katherine Hinther, Susan Grabau (Claudio) and son Mark (Dawn-Marie). Dad was a devoted Gigi and Didi to his precious grandchildren, Tricia, Colin, Cody, Mathew, Stephanie, Evana, Alexa and great-grandson William. He took an active part in their life as they were his pride and joy. Dad is also survived by brother William; sister Ann (Henry) Nimchuk and numerous nieces, nephews and family friends. Dad was predeceased by his parents Alexander and Ksenia; sister Mary and brothers, George and Michael. Dad was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Father Shyshkowich Council No. 8925, participated in the Outreach program and was a founding member of St. Josephs Ukrainian Catholic Church. Dad was a devoted employee to Midway Chrysler for 45 years only retiring due to illness. He possessed an untiring and total devotion to his family and all who knew him; anyone in need could depend on him. Pallbearers will be his brother Knights, Mike Nawalsky, Ed Faserick, Matt Stebleski, Andy Howarth, George Zawortny and Tom Rodeck. Prayers will be said Thursday, September 16 at 7:00 p.m. (tonight) at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 17 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josephs Ukrainian Church, 250 Jefferson Avenue. Father John Pazak C.S.S.R. officiating. Our sincere thanks to Dr. C. Olweny and nursing staff MCTRF St. Boniface Site, the St. Boniface Emergency staff for their support and understanding over the past years and Dr. Unrau and staff of GH6 for all the excellent care and compassion. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in dads memory to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation St. Boniface Site. Dad will be laid to rest at All Saints Cemetery.
