Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES RAYMOND REAHIL It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond Reahil, who died peacefully on Saturday, September 18, 1999 in Winnipeg. Raymond was born on August 25, 1917 in Winnipeg, Man. He was raised in Winnipeg and Gimli and started working at an early age. He prospected with his father and mined in Northern Manitoba. In 1940, Raymond joined the Lord Strathcona Horse Regiment as a cadet. He received military training at Sandhurst, England and attained the Rank of Lieutenant. He received the Defence Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. Following his service at the end of the war, Raymond returned to Canada from the United Kingdom and settled in Barrie, Ontario where he managed the Barrie Hardware Store until his retirement in 1972. In 1980, he moved to Sardis, B.C. where he enjoyed his retirement with his wife Marie. Raymond enjoyed sports and family. He was a generous and kind man. Raymond was a wonderful and thoughtful husband to Marie and a loving companion to her. He is survived by his wife Marie; his sisters, Audrey Pearley, Gloria Bartell and Phyllis Reahil and his brothers, Larry (Jan) and Paul. He is also survived by his stepchildren, step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Frederick and Gerald. Raymond was an unassuming and humble man. His passing will be marked by family members in private. The family wishes to thank the Doctors and staff at Grace General Hospital for their dedication and caring. Donations in Raymonds memory may be made to Grace General Hospital or Salvation Army.
