ROBERT RAWE Peacefully on September 29, 1999 at Seven Oaks General Hospital, Robert, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away in his 82nd year. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Elizabeth (Betty) his daughter Lynne and son-in-law Jim Melanson; grandson Jarett, grandson Jeffrey (Jennifer) great-grandson Caelan; sisters, Valentina Turnbull (Charlie), Nina Balbon, Adina Dufaut (Bob), Adeline Bresch (Elmer) numerous nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his brother Reinhold. Robert was born of German descent on December 25, 1916 in Korsten, Ukraine and came to Canada with his family in 1929. They settled on a farm in Guernsey, SK. Robert later ran the general store in Jansen. After moving to Winnipeg, Robert worked at Western Builders for several years and later at Cadham Provincial Laboratories from 1962 until his retirement in 1982. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. D.A. Ross and to Diana McNeill, Roberts V.O.N. nurse. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 4 at 1:30 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charlie Turnbull, Elmer Bresch, Rene Dufaut, Reg Bresch, Jeffrey Melanson, and Jarett Melanson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6; or a charity of ones choice.
