EMIL ALBERT CRASS On Saturday, October 9, 1999, Emil Crass passed away peacefully at Concordia Hospital. Emil was born on May 9, 1923 in xand lived in Winnipeg his entire life. He was predeceased by his parents, Pearl and Albert and sister Emily. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Marion; son Brad; daughter Kim; son-in-law Kumar and granddaughter Siena who brought him many hours of joy. Emil loved and cherished all members of his family. During the Second World War, Emil worked for the Canadian Navy as a Radar Systems Operator. After the war was over, he spent his entire working career at the CNR retiring in 1983 as Engineering Co-ordinator, Prairie Region. He enjoyed his retirement fully, travelling to many parts of the world. When at home he enjoyed his gardening and completion of his many woodworking projects. He was a staunch Bomber supporter and imparted his love of sports to his family. He was an active member of the Heather Curling Club, never wishing to miss a game or the opportunity to comment on someone elses game. He also took time to enjoy the company of his friends at Legion 215. The family wishes to thank all the doctors and health care professionals at St. Boniface and Concordia Hospitals for their assistance during the course of Dads treatment. A thank you to all those who supported Emil and his family with words of kindness and actions of love during his illness. A private funeral service will be held with interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society or Manitoba Pioneer Camp.
