DARRYL REBEIRO Surrounded by his parents, Bert and Joan and his closest friends and relatives we announce the passing of our beloved son, Darryl Christopher on Saturday, October 30, 1999 at the age of 33 years. Darryl leaves to mourn, his heartbroken parents; his many aunts and uncles; cousins in Canada and Australia and his two grandmothers, Edna Mariano and Gretchen Rebeiro of Melbourne, Australia. He was predeceased by his only brother, Brian in 1991. Darryl was born in Calcutta, India and immigrated with his parents in 1969. He attended St. Pauls High School, University of Manitoba and graduated from Red River Community College with his Business Administration. He worked for MPI until six years ago when he started his own business, Kwik Snak Vending Services. He worked very hard and built up a great clientele, but more importantly, made many friends on his weekly vending routes - he was nicknamed candyman. Darryl enjoyed two favourite sports, hockey and football and was a season ticket holder for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers since 1984. He also enjoyed watching the many wrestling matches with his dad. Darryl loved travelling and enjoyed his three trips to Australia to see his family. He also travelled to Mexico and the United States. Darryl will always be remembered for his smile, his sense of humour, generosity and kindness. His friends were a very important of his daily life and he has left a legacy of memories - well miss you BUD. Our sincere and special thanks to Darryls long time doctor, Dr Fred Aoki and his two nurses, Nora Schwetz and Anne Russell who were always there for Darryl during his illness. We would also like to thank all the nurses/orderlies of GH4 Wing at the Health Sciences Centre for taking such great care of our Darryl. Celebration of Darryls Eternal Birth will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 4 at St. Bernadettes Church, 820 Cottonwood Rd. with Father Fred Olds as celebrant. Viewing to take place at the church prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Public viewing will also take place at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 3. Active pallbearers will be Lorne Korol, Robert Albrechtsen, Darryl Rosenfelt, Darryl Leganchuk, John Pacheco and Brian Sprenger. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Childrens Wish Foundation, (Manitoba Chapter), 350 St. Mary Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J2. We loved you very much son, you were our pride and joy.
