BERNARD (BEN) POIRIER Passed away suddenly Monday, November 1, 1999 at the Grace General Hospital. Ben was predeceased by his wife Minerva in 1994, his parents and sister Cecile in infancy. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his children Renald, Bernice (Roger), Diane, Janet (Lanny) and Debra (Hubert) grandchildren, Charlene (Paul), Rickey (Tanya), Kim (Chris), Stephen, Christopher, Andrea, Suzanne, Tammy, Carmen and Anthony; great-grandchildren Jesse, Dylan, Katia, Hali and Sarah; siblings Aubert, Denis, Gertrude Gaudry, Andy, Roland, Noella Lachapelle, Ghislaine Corbiere, Estelle Beaudry, Bernadette Beaudry, and Paul and many relatives and friends. Ben was born in Haywood, Manitoba. He served overseas in the Royal Canadian Navy. On his return to Canada he married Minerva Lilley and they raised a family in Winnipeg. Ben worked hard as a mechanic for most of his life. He spent much of his time in his workshop with woodworking and metal working. He also loved to help his neighbours, work in the garden, and to spend time with his family. He always gave of himself and never asked for anything in return. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 4, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Interment Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre. A special thank you to the Grace Hospital Emergency Ward Staff and nurses on 4 East for the special care and compassion provided to Dad and family members. Donation in Bens memory may be made to the Parkinson Foundation of Canada, 825 Sherbrook St., Wpg., MB. R3A 1M5. It will be lonely here without you, We will miss you more each day, For life will not be the same for us, Since youve been called away. We will always remember the way you looked, The way you walked and smiled, All the things you did for us, Will be with us all the while. You always did your best, Your heart was true and tender, You lived your life for those you loved, And those you loved will remember.
