DENIS JOSEPH JULIEN BEDARD 1962 - 1999 Peacefully and courageously, on Saturday, December 11, 1999 at the Stonewall and District Health Centre, Denis Joseph Julien Bedard, of Stony Mountain, Manitoba, born in Chibaugamau, Quebec on July 22, 1962. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Val MacDonald of Stony Mountain; his son Matthew Bedard of Winnipeg and stepdaughter Sheena MacDonald. Denis will also be dearly remembered by his brothers, Dan (Judy), Norm (Terry), Guy and Jack, all of Winnipeg; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Zen MacDonald of Stonewall; brothers and sisters-in-law, James (Janna) of Thunder Bay, Ont., Dan (Chris) and Allan of Stonewall; nieces and nephews, Jessie, Braydon, Brett and Maddison; and numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Gisele Albert in 1993. Denis spent his childhood years in Quebec and Inuvik, N.W.T., moving to Winnipeg in 1972, where he graduated from Glen Lawn Collegiate and went on to become a Certified General Accountant. He worked for Revenue Canada, Indian and Northern Affairs and most recently was president of First Nations Management Services of Winnipeg, a company he organized. Denis was always a serious hard working individual, who expected the same from others. As a young man he worked two jobs while putting himself through school and continued to work hard to achieve his goals in business. He was always fair to others, often helping them to achieve their goals as well. He believed that nothing in the world comes free. Denis recently discovered the joy of a good golf game, which he introduced to his son Matt. He also enjoyed watching Sheenas and Matts participation in sports. Denis and Val enjoyed spending vacation time together on a Caribbean Cruise, Mexico, Hawaii and week end getaways. A funeral service will be held in the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall on Wednesday, December 15 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Fr. S. Gacek will officiate. The service will conclude at the chapel with cremation to follow. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
