BERYL THORSTEINSSON Peacefully in her sleep, Beryl Thorsteinsson passed away at her residence on December 30, 1999 aged 79 years of Winnipeg, beloved wife for 40 years of John B. Thorsteinsson. Beryl is lovingly remembered by her husband John; children, Christie and John, daughter-in-law Kimberly; grandchildren Jordan, David, William, Chloe, Jessica, Calder and Blaire, all who she dearly loved and cherished. In addition she will be deeply missed by her brother-in-law Bud Thorsteinsson and wife Eileen, sister-in-law Helen Turner and husband Charles as well as numerous cousins. Beryl was born in Bemidji, Minnesota, on August 10, 1920, the daughter of John and Mary Murdoch. She was educated in both the U.S. and Canada and graduated from Angus Commercial College at age 16. After holding many responsible positions at M.T.S. she joined the Department of the Attorney General in 1949 and at the time of her retirement in 1959 (to get married) she proudly held the position of Official Court Reporter for the Western Judicial District in Brandon. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Drs. K. Thorlakson, I. Maxwell, Nurse M. Katzeley R.N., and all Home Care Nurses - especially Georgia and Marnee. A memorial service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church in Selkirk, Manitoba at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2000 with Reverend John Hogerwaard officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Beryls name be made to the Riverview Health Centre, One Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, R3L 2P4. Gilbart Funeral Home Selkirk in care of arrangements.
