ADELARD (PETE) RATTE With profound sadness we announce the passing of our dear husband and father, aged 84, on January 1, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital, surrounded by his wife and family. Born and raised in St. Boniface, Adelard was a devoted, kind and gentle person with a heart full of tenderness for his family and friends. His compassion was felt by many, especially those he cared for at Deer Lodge Hospital where he worked for many years until his retirement. His faith was of utmost importance to him and sustained him through his illness with great courage and acceptance. He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus. The centre of his life was his wife and family. You were an inspiration to us Papa and you touched our lives enormously. You will be lovingly and sadly missed by all of us "Daddy". Adelard was predeceased by his loving parents Marie Louise and Narcisse, brothers Raymond, George and Aldeo; sisters Anna and Therese, sons-in-law Albert and Allan, and several siblings in infancy. Blessed with 63 years of marriage, his memory will forever remain with his beloved wife Georgette the love of his life; his daughters, Ida (Lawrence) Chabluk, Laura Dacquay, Dolores (Peter) Chabluk; sons Maurice (Dorothy), Fred (Bonny) and Patrick (Donna) nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Also surviving him are brothers Armand (Alma), Rene (Yvonne) and several sisters and brothers-in-law. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Sharon Barker for her care and kindness over the years. Our thanks are also extended to the staff of 6ASouth at St. Boniface Hospital and to home care worker Ron. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on January 6 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Boniface Cathedral, presided by Msgr. Albert Frechette. Pallbearers and readers will be his grandchildren. A private family interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, mass offerings or donations to a charity of ones choice may be made in his memory. "May you rest in the peace of Jesus dear Husband and Papa".
