Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMAN CORBETT POLLARD Peacefully, on Sunday, February 13, 2000, Normaon Corbett Pollard passed away at the Riverview Health Centre. He was predeceased by his wife Vilet in 1992; and his daughter Diane in 1987. Norm was born in Jasmin, SK on December 26, 1916. He spent some time in Transcona before his family moved to Wade, ON. Norm worked as a sectionman at Minaki, ON and Ophir, MB prior to working at the Manitoba Telephone System, retiring as Cable Foreman in 1973. Vi and Norm were married in 1939 and celebrated their 50th anniversary with many friends. Their greatest joy was spending time at their cottage at Gull Lake and later Wanasing. Norm served overseas in France, Belgium and Holland with the Royal Canadian Signal Corps. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Transcona No. 7, the Telephone Pioneers and Transcona Memorial United Church. He is lovingly remembered by Marg and Vern Peterson, Betty and George Copeland, Joan and Ted Davidson, Shirley Harding, Irene Harvey; friend Doris Robson; nieces, nephews; and all the friends he met along lifes way. A memorial service will be held at Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Ave., W., on Wednesday, February 16 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Jeff Cook and Rev. Carol Fletcher officiating. The family wishes to thank the staff on 3E at Riverview Health Centre for the excellent care and many kindnesses shown to Norm. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. Happy times make happy memories Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
