Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBOGDAN POTREBKO Peacefully, Bogdan Potrebko, after a courageous battle with cancer, passed away with his family at his side at Victoria General Hospital on February 19, 2000 at the age of 61 years. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Zofia of 32 years; children, Elizabeth (Daniel) and Peter; sister Joan (Joseph) and their children, Patricia, Julia, and Theodore. He will be fondly remembered by his brother-in-law Frank Jurdeczka (Barbara) and their children, Richard and Greg; sister-in-law Anna Dolna and her daughter Kasia; cousin John Zacharuk (Angela) and their children, Alexander, Stephen and Larissa; many relatives and friends here in Canada and in Poland. Bogdan was predeceased by his parents, Maria and Szymon and grandmother Maria. Bogdan was born on October 9, 1938 in Chotylub, Poland. He immigrated to Canada in 1966 where he met Zofia and they were married in 1967. He was happily employed with C.P. Rail for 32 years. He was a kind and generous husband and father who would do anything for his family. Bogdan enjoyed his hobbies which included electronics repair and he will be remembered as a handyman who could fix anything. He loved the outdoors, especially gardening and picking mushrooms in the forest. He was a member of SPK Club 13. The family wishes to thank Dr. Pacin, Dr. Taraska and the wonderful staff of Unit 3 at Victoria General Hospital who cared for him until his death. As well, we would like to thank Dr. Michalcioiu and the staff in Oncology, Seven Oaks Hospital, Dr. Szajkowski, Dr. Cheung and his V.O.N. nurse Maryanna. A special thank you to Fr. Antoni Degutis, Fr. Patrick Morand and Rev. Ron Long. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, February 22, at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 23, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. with an Oblate Father officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel St. Godard, Frank and Richard Jurdeczka, Ignac Szelazek and Stanislaw Bajno. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Ghost Church Building Fund, 341 Selkirk Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2W 2L8 or to Victoria General Hospital - Oncology, 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3T 2E8.
