KATHLEEN HELEN POPE (nee McCALL) On March 4, 2000 peacefully with her sister by her side, Kathleen passed away in Kaiser Hospital, Hayward, California, aged 78. She was born in Winnipeg on March 31, 1922, the youngest daughter of Alice Sullivan and Eugene Dominic McCall. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband George M. Pope, her brother Eugene Peter McCall, Edmonton, her brother-in-law Warren Edward McCall, Winnipeg. Kathleen is survived by her sisters, Maureen Patricia (Mrs. W.E. McCall), Winnipeg and sister Maureen Patricia (Mary Alice McCall "Mickey") Sisters of the Holy Names, Los Gatos, CA; her nephew Patrick McCall (Cherrill), Edmonton; her niece Kathleen Burton (Lloyd) Coaldale, AB and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Bernice McCall, White Rock, BC, her brother-in-law James Pope (Margo), Ottawa, and many cousins, friends and neighbours. Kathleen received all her education at St. Marys Academy, Winnipeg, graduating in 1940. In 1941 she joined the Canadian Pacific Railway in the Weston Shops and later in the Accounting Department for a total of 17 years. Kathleen married George McArthur Pope in 1954. They were parishioners of St. Ignatius and St. John Brebeuf Parishes, Winnipeg. They moved to Ottawa in 1959 and later moved to Northern California settling in Union City and two years ago Kathleen moved to Fremont, CA. In California she worked for the Kaiser Foundation for several years retiring in 1978. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date.
