Peter was born December 9, 1923 in Stryhanec, Kobrin, Ukraine. In 1942 he moved to Germany. There he met Maria Kuczeryna. After they wed they lived for a short time in Belgium. In 1951 he immigrated to Canada and came to live in Winnipeg. Peter was employed at Dominion Bridge for 34 years until his retirement. Peter was an active member of the St. Mary the Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral where he served as elder assisting the priest during church services. Peter loved the Lord and consistently found opportunities to serve wherever there was a need. He was actively involved with the St. Mary Protectress Brotherhood, the St. Andrew Brotherhood, and the Society of Volyn. He was also a member of the building committee and helped with fund raising that eventually resulted in the completion of the Ukrainian Orthodox Millennium Villa.
