FRED BECKER It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our husband, father and grandfather on Wednesday, March 15, 2000. He will be forever loved and missed by his wife of 43 years, Rose; his son Grant (Miriam) daughters Tracey (Grant) Thorsteinsson and Lisa (Bernie) Chichlowski; grandchildren, Isaak and Noah Becker, Melissa and Ashleigh Chichlowski and Amanda, Derek and Jodi Thorsteinsson. Surviving are brothers and sisters, Violet (Peter), Helen (Gary), Delores, Jack (Eleanor), Ted (Donna), Don (Anne), Adam (Maggie), Dennis (Janice), Vicki (Richard), and Ken. He will also be lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews, family, and many friends. Fred was born in Fraserwood, Man. After completing school at Teulon Collegiate he settled in Winnipeg, marrying Rose in 1956. Fred and Rose moved their family to Brandon 1960, where for 14 years he made numerous close friends. In 1973 Fred and his family moved back to Winnipeg to co-own the St. Nobert Hotel and after numerous years within the hospitality industry, Fred retired. He enjoyed every minute he spent with his grandchildren, lovingly teasing them and endlessly doing puzzles and playing games with them. Fred also enjoyed working in his yard, spending every sunlit summer hour outdoors. Prayers will be said on Sunday, March 19, at 7:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 20 at 10:30 a.m. in the Mary Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge. Pallbearers will be Bernie Chichlowski, Reid Kuzik, Ken Becker, Grant Thorsteinsson, Greg Luschinski, and Curtis Luschinski. In respect for the season of Lent flowers are declined and donations may be made in Freds memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, Man., or to a charity of ones choice. Your love will light our way, What we keep in memory is ours unchanged forever. Well love you forever-well love you for always. As long as were living, our Daddy youll be.
