EDNA MARGARET THOMPSON It is with sad hearts, that we announce the passing of Edna Thompson on March 19, 2000 at the age of 78 years at Grace General Hospital. Edna is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Ross and Douglas of Morinville, AB and her daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Lynn Chambers of Winnipeg. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Patrick and Ainsley Thompson, Dean Chambers, Debbie and Flemming Nielsen and Keri Chambers and Shane Kelly; and by her great-grandchildren, Christian and Rachel Nielsen and baby Jonah Kelly. Other than being stationed in Victoria, BC during the Second World War, Edna lived her entire life in Winnipeg and enjoyed the times spent with her many close friends and family. She worked part-time for several years in Sears candy department and was affectionately nicknamed "our candy grandma" by Dean and Debbie. Edna was predeceased by her mother and father, four brothers and two sisters. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 28 at 1:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. Interment in the Brookside Cemetery. Thank you to the Grace Hospital physicians and nurses who cared for Mom. A special thank you to Dr. Brian Penner of Health Sciences Centre for his compassion and kindness.
