DMYTRO (METRO) SAWCHUK Peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2000, Metro Sawchuk entered into eternal life at Heritage Lodge at the age of 74 years, after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis since 1951. Metro will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Emily; daughter Iris; son Dale (Lesley) grandchildren, Lauren and Cole; brothers, Roy, Bill and Matt (Lynn) and sister-in-law Mary in St. Catherines, Ont., numerous relatives and friends, and especially his furry friend Max. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 17 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Basils Ukrainian Catholic Church, 202 Harcourt St., Winnipeg with Father Isidore Dziady officiating. Interment at Neepawa Cemetery on Thursday, May 18 at 11:00 a.m. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Heritage Lodge for their care, understanding and kindness during the past six and a half years.
