ARTHUR WESLEY THREADKILL (SEPT. 17, 1916 - MAY 26, 2000) Arthur was born in Portage la Prairie in September of 1916. He moved to Winnipeg when he was a young man and worked in the film industry and then at the CNR express. Arthur then met and married Pearl Tinsley of Winnipeg on September 2, 1939, and they enjoyed 61 years of marriage before Art's death. At the onset of the Second World War, Arthur enlisted the Royal Canadian Navy and served aboard HMCS "Kirkland Lake" until the end of the war. He then returned to Winnipeg and rejoined the CNR where he worked for 37 years, retiring in 1977 due to health problems. He is survived by his loving wife as well as his beloved grandchildren (Kim Esau, Kelly and Ian Dixon, and David Esau) and great-grandchildren (Camille, Keith and Alex). Art was predeceased by his mother, father and three sisters as well as his only child (Mrs. Judy Esau). "Papa" will be greatly missed by all his family. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. A graveside interment will be attended by the immediate family at a later date.
