Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGUERITE (MARG) TIBBATTS Passed away May 23, 2000 at Sunnyside Manor, Birtle, MB. She was born May 2, 1902 at Plumas, MB., eldest daughter of Dr. Alfred de Brodie Stewart and Janet Grant Miller. She came to the Lidcliff area as a young teacher, stayed and married Cy Tibbatts on December 25, 1923. They farmed in the area and raised a family of two sons and two daughters. Marg was the catcher for the Maple Leaf Lidcliff ladies baseball team and an active supporter of the Lidcliff and Binscarth mens ball teams. She loved all sports and the last few years never missed a curling game on T.V. She was an active member of the Lidcliff Ladies Aid, Binscarth U.C.W. and a popular 4-H sewing leader. She was a member of Purity and Prudence Rebekah Lodges and received the Decoration of Chivalry, the highest honour bestowed on a Rebekah. Marg was well known for her readings and recitations and was frequently asked to entertain at meetings and gatherings in Binscarth and surrounding areas. The last few years were spent at Sunnyside Manor where she endeared the hearts of many of the residents and her care givers. She was predeceased by her parents; husband Cy; grandson Gary Tibbatts; daughter-in-law Mavis Tibbatts and sister Jean Greenwood. She is survived by son Kenneth of Foxwarren, granddaughter Gloria, great-grandsons, Derek (Shelley), Trent, Shawn, great-great-grandchildren, Jordyn and Jacob; granddaughter Kim (David), great-grandchildren, Krista and Michael; son Glen (Helen) of Vancouver, grandson Ron (Sonia), great-grandchildren, Janelle and Brianna; daughter Iris (Delmar) of Birtle, grandchildren, Jean (Peter), Donna, Keith (Joy), Lorraine (David), Terry (Teri) great-grandchildren, Christine and Megan; Bradley and Curtis; Amanda and Sabrina; Quinn; daughter Beverley of Winnipeg, grandchildren, Teresa (Peter), Judy (Michael), great-grandchildren, Darion and Devin. She is also survived by sister Iris Stewart of Elkwood Manor, Elkhorn, MB. Funeral service was held at Binscarth United Church on May 27 with Rev. M. Dwight Rutherford as presider. Pallbearers were grandchildren, Keith Bamford, Terry Bamford, Ron Tibbatts, Jean Ashcroft, Kimberly Munro and Teresa Toutant. The recollection was given by granddaughter Jean Ashcroft of Regina. Donations may be made to the Binscarth United Church or Sunnyside Manor in Birtle.
