Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELEANOR LAVINIA BROWN On Thursday, June 8, 2000, Eleanor passed away suddenly in her home at the age of 86 years. She was predeceased by her father Ralph in 1917, her mother Harriet in 1978, nephew Ralph Baynham in 1980 and her younger sister Isabel Baynham in 1991. Eleanor will be sadly missed by her 3 nieces, Joyce Baynham, Wendy Findlay, Carolyn Shepherd and their families, her brother-in-law Scotty Baynham as well as her cousins and friends. Eleanor attended public school in Winnipeg and graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1939. After receiving a teaching diploma in 1941, she taught in rural Manitoba until serving in the Canadian Army during the Second World War. After graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1949, Eleanor worked for several years in Winnipeg in drafting and architecture. She was a longtime member of the University Womens Club and the Royal Canadian Legion and a lifetime member of the St. Andrews United Church. During her life, Eleanor enjoyed attending musical and art events, visiting friends and family, and spending summer holidays at her beloved cottage at Minaki. She was an avid reader and a devoted animal lover. A Service of Remembrance celebrating Eleanors life will be held on Friday, June 16 at 4:00 p.m. in St. Andrews River Heights United Church, 255 Oak Street with The Rev. Terry Hidichuk officiating. Our family wishes to express our thanks to Eleanors friend and neighbour Barbara Coombs and her family.
