Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMILIA BEIRNES It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Millie on Sunday, June 25, 2000 at the Grace Hospital after a final brief illness. Millie was born in Rhein, Sask., October 25, 1916, the fifth of 11 children born to immigrant parents, Margaret and Ludwig Waschenfelder. School years were spent in Rhein, until her family moved to the Rockwood area where she began work and helped support her family. Married in 1938 to Russel Beirnes, Millie became a devoted wife and mother of six children who enjoyed her community, gardening, picking berries, quilting, a good game of Scrabble and her greatest passion: reading. Millie was predeceased by her husband Russel in 1988, an infant sister and brother Jacob. She leaves to mourn her children, Marie Millan (Bill), Russel (Margaret), James (Audrey), Kelly (special friend Millie), Linda Fines (Gordon) and Holly Burt (Rick) 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held on Thursday, June 29 at 8:00 p.m. in the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 30 at New Life Baptist Church, Stonewall. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Henry Beirnes, Aaron Beirnes, Tyler Beirnes, Lance Beirnes, William Millan, Curtis Fines, Ryan Fines, Matt Fines. Many thanks to Moms homecare workers, staff and ambulance at the Stonewall Hospital, Rosewood Lodge and Grace Hospital who encouraged, supported and gave consistent loving care. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, in care of the arrangements.
