Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOUGLAS CARMAN BEATTY December 25, 1923 - July 24, 2000 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Douglas Beatty on Monday, July 24, 2000. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Chris; children, Jackie (Bob), Carol (Scott), Sherry (Louis), Tish (Rob), Diane (Adam), Susan and Brian; his 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Rosa; daughter Cheryl; and two grandchildren, William and Charlene. Doug was born in Goodwater, Sask. and attended school in Headingley, Man. He and Chris spent many happy years square dancing and also organizing square dance events. Since moving to Sandy Hook he became very involved with the Gimli Kiwanis Club and he was their treasurer for several years and received the Mel Osborne Fellow Award. At Dougs request cremation has taken place and a memorial service in celebration of his life will take place at Our Lady of The Lake Church, No. 9 Hwy. and Lake Ave., Winnipeg Beach, on Thursday, July 27 at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Lynn Stevens officiating. Special thanks to Dr. Wiesenthal, the nurses at Johnston Memorial Hospital and the many homecare workers for their tender care. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, please make donations to the Rainbow Society or a charity of your choice. Your memories are our keepsakes from which we will never part.
