NORMAN THOMAS POLLOCK It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our loving husband, dad and papa, Norman on Sunday, August 13, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 73 years. He leaves to mourn his loving wife and soul-mate of 43 years, Dorothy; his daughter Tracy Nosaluk (Borys) and his grandchildren, Erin and Erik. He also leaves behind his sisters, Winnie, Elsie and Edith; a brother William and many friends and extended family. A special thank you to Frank and Nick and to Carol and Florence for all their help. Norman was predeceased by his mother Katherine; father John; brothers, Tony and John and a sister Lillian. Norman was born on January 4, 1927 and lived his early years in Gonor before moving to Selkirk where he resided for most of his life. He was involved in the gravel and construction trade all his life. He was a partner in Selkirk Redi-Mix and Fort Garry Building Products. Even though his health had been failing in the past years Norman was always an integral part of the family and enthusiastically took part in all family functions. Papa especially was proud of his grandchildren and always took a keen interest in all of their activities. His steady and gentle influence shows what a loving father and grandfather can have on a family. Normans other passion was fishing. He and Dorothy spent many wonderful times on their boat to see who would catch the big one. An evening prayer service will be said on Tuesday (tonight) at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 16 at 11:00 a.m. also in the chapel with Pastor Jeff Goudy officiating. Interment in the St. Clements Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Borys Nosaluk, Andy Peterson, John Ryan, Tony Sitarz, Peter Belinski and Leslie Moroz. Honorary pallbearers will be all his fishing buddies. The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Daeninck, Tracy, Dr. Tom Hack and staff at the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit. Special thanks to the nursing staff especially Tracy, Rachel, Jennifer and Michelle for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba, 100 Olivia Street, Winnipeg. Memory drifts to scenes long past Time rolls on but memories last Sunshine past shadows fell Love remembrance outlasts all. We will always love and cherish you. God has taken you home. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
