RUBY LORNA TIMMERMAN Ruby Lorna Timmerman died peacefully at West Park Manor on August 15, 2000 at the age of 86 years. Lorna was predeceased by her husband Adrian in 1983; and by her sister Alma Sharp; and her parents, Georgina and Arni Christianson. She was proud of her Icelandic heritage. Lorna leaves to mourn her sister Florence Mainse, Courtenay, B.C.; her brother-in-law Jaring Timmerman; her stepdaughters, Jean Plomp and Catherine Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lorna worked at Gimli Fisheries until her marriage in 1961, after which she served as church secretary at Grant Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member for many years. Lorna also enjoyed many years of volunteer service with Child Evangelism Fellowship, Union Gospel Mission and The Salvation Army Womens Ministries. She consistently provided both prayer and financial support to Christian missions throughout her life. Gratitude is extended to the staff of West Park Manor who consistently treated Lorna with concern, sensitivity and respect. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grant Memorial Baptist Church or The Salvation Army Southlands Community Church Missionary Group. Funeral service will be held at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 18, with reception to follow. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery.
