Edwin was born on March 28, 1927 in Carman. He grew up in Starbuck and surrounding area and attended Prairie View School. Dad met the apple of his eye and married her in December of 1951, and they took up residence in Winnipeg, were he worked at Parkers Hatchery. In 1952 they moved to the family farm in Starbuck and started farming. During farming off-season he worked at clearing bush along the La Salle River and later at Versatile Farm Equipment. They moved to Brunkild in 1979, and kept farming for one more year when Dad parked his tractor and began to work full time at Versatile. He retired July 10, 1992, but as the saying goes, you cant take the farm out of the farmer and he started part time farm work for Elwood Kaminsky in Brunkild and Obert Johnson in Starbuck. Dads interests were family, gardening, bird watching, cribbage, movies, guitar, and oil painting. Dad loved his family and welcomed visits from his grandchildren. He was an avid picture taker and in recent years had gotten into video making. Dad will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered. A memorial service will be held from the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Brunkild, Man., on Wednesday, August 23 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Greg Fowlie-Neufeld officiating. A private family graveside service will have taken place. Honorary Pallbearers will be Garth and Audrey Hanna, Raymond Martens, Johnny Mauseth Jr., Donna Mauseth, and Mark Sexe.
