DMYTRO (DAN) RAWLUK Peacefully on September 27, 2000 after a lengthy illness, Dmytro (Dan) Rawluk passed away at the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale. Dan was born in St. Martin, Man. on June 14, 1920. He farmed in St. Martin before he was called to serve in the army in the Second World War. Dan returned home when his father passed away. He moved to Eriksdale in July 1947 to farm south of town. He met Elsie Yanke and they were married January 24, 1948. They continued farming and raised their six children at this location. They moved to the town of Eriksdale in 1992. Dan always enjoyed working with his animals on the farm. Dan worked at a variety of jobs including Manitoba Hydro and Manitoba Telephones. He also helped build the hospital. Dad had a great sense of humour, loved to debate and always liked to keep himself busy. There was always mischief in his beautiful blue eyes. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his wife Elsie of 52 years; his children and their families, Carolyn (Hans) Muenchow of Eriksdale, their children, Angela (Adrian), Cherie (James) and Robert; Kenneth (Eva) of Winnipeg, their children, Kenneth and Laura; Gerald (Jill) of Australia, their sons, Fergus and Evan; Mavis (Ken) Higgins of Cooks Creek, their children, Justin, Brent (Lynn) and Robyn (Glen) Kelly (John) Walld of Winnipeg, their son Lyle; Curtis (Cindy) of Winnipeg and their sons, Carson and Cody; along with numerous relatives and many good friends. Dan was predeceased by his mother Sophia and his father John; along with his brothers, Nick and Fred. He is survived by brothers, Mike and Joe. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 6 at the Eriksdale Recreational Centre with Rev. Melanie Kauppila officiating. The service will conclude at the hall. Everyone in attendance can consider themselves honorary pallbearers for Dan. His love for his family will always be remembered. We love you, Dad, and we will always miss you. May You Rest in Peace. Thanks to the staff and doctors at the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital and the Eriksdale Personal Care Home for the loving care you gave Dad in his last days on Earth.
