JOSEPH M. RAILLE JR. After a lengthy illness, Joseph Raille (Ti Jos), passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Notre Dame Hospital on October 14, 2000 at the age of 84 years. Joseph was born in Notre Dame de Lourdes on June 1, 1916. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph Raille Sr. and Parmelia Caillier, his son Dr. Denis Raille in 1996, and by two brothers and four sisters. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Elise (nee Deleurme) his four daughters Fernande Dacquay (Norbert), Regina Roch (Romeo), Simone Dequier (Albert), Christiane Cleutinx (Gerard), one daughter-in-law Mary Raille (Vandendorpe) 19 grandchildren 22 great grandchildren; three sisters, one brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was an ardent worker, but he also enjoyed having a good time, playing music, telling jokes, remembering the good old times and travelling. For many years he farmed and drove a cream truck, but his greatest joy was operating his loader in his gravel pit. He enjoyed very much the company of his children and grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday October 18, at 2:00 p.m. with Father Raymond Bremaud officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends or family may send memorial donations to the Notre Dame Foyer or the Notre Dame Hospital.
