ARTHUR GORDON PRUDEN

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARTHUR GORDON PRUDEN Peacefully on October 16, 2000, at his residence, Gordon Pruden, aged 80 years, of Winnipeg, beloved husband of Eileen Pruden. Gordon was born in Selkirk on August 14, 1920, eldest son of the late Arthur and Mary Pruden, and lived his early years there. He served in the Signals Corp. overseas during the Second World War. He was employed as an electrical engineer with MTS for 35 years. Gordon was involved with the Manitoba Genealogical Society, the Red River Valley Historical Society, and for the past ten years was a volunteer with the Western Canada Aviation Museum. He also held various positions with the Midwestern Rail Association. An accomplished musician, Gordon enjoyed many hours at his piano and organ. He was a charitable man who donated to a wide variety of charities. He was a nature lover and enjoyed the outdoors very much. He had strong interests in languages, achieving various levels of proficiency in French, Italian and German. Gordon enjoyed the many trips with his wife to England and Scotland to visit relatives and see historical sites. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 48 years, Eileen; son Jeffery (Barb) of Winnipeg; daughters, Brenda Jardine (Mason) of Russell, Man., Janice Jones (Laird) of Winnipeg and Sheila Pruden of Toronto; one brother Lorne of Winnipeg and seven grandchildren, Amethyst (Kris), Beryl, Shannon, Veda, Andrew, Nola and Simon. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Thursday, October 19 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Clements Anglican Church, Selkirk with Rev. Murray Henderson officiating. Interment of ashes will follow in the churchyard. Special thanks to Ella, Jim, Sally, Carol, Sharon, Ryan, Anne, Father Vince, Lisa, Dusanka, Vicki, Ray, Cisca, Irene, Norm, Victor, Arlyn, Donna, Elizabeth, Joanne, Tina and Kerri. We realize not all of those who met and helped us are named here, though your efforts are equally appreciated. Thanks also for all the aid and tender care given to our father and family during his residence at Misericordia Place.
