DR. SYD RADINOVSKY

DR. SYD RADINOVSKY Age 67, died of a heart attack on October 21, 2000 in San Diego, California. Born in Winnipeg in 1933, Syd earned a Masters degree at the University of Manitoba and a PhD in Entomology at Oregon State University. In 1966, he began a 34-year professorship at Millersville University in Pennsylvania. A dedicated teacher and mentor, he founded and advised the International Folk Dancing Club, the Entomology Club, and Priority, an environmental action group. Also active in the community, Syd regularly gave presentations and participated in environmental activities. Syd conducted research in such locations as India, the California coast, and the ecosystem surrounding Three Mile Island. He was an avid folk dancer, photographer, traveller, astronomer, and painter. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa; his son Dean; his wife, Kathy; sisters, Edith Blank, Ruth Smallberg, and Rosalind Reinhard; and his former wife, Linda Klahr.
