GIBSON THOMPSON Peacefully at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, Manitoba, Gibson Thompson of Little Saskatchewan First Nation, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, at the age of 80 years. Gibson was a loving father who showed his family how to live life to the fullest, work hard and help out whenever he could. Gibson was deeply loved by his grandchildren. Gibson worked at Eatons in Winnipeg many years ago and also did carpentry work. He loved gardening, always having a potato patch which he shared with others. Gibson enjoyed fishing, hunting, working outdoors, where he won first prize in a yard contest. He loved to watch baseball, knowing all the players and cheered them on. Eskabar was his favourite pitcher from Toronto. Gibson attended many wake services and would stay and support the family. He loved to go to church and attend Camp meetings. The family would like to thank the Chief and Council of the Little Saskatchewan First Nation, for all their help, love and concern during this time. Also to Dr. Piesas and staff of the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, ambulance drivers and the Anderson Family Funeral Home. Gibson leaves to mourn; sons and daughters, John (Alice) Thompson, David (Rose) Thompson, Andrew (Lillian) Thompson, Esther (Elmer) Chunick, Doreen (Samuel) Sumner, George (friend Janine) Thompson, Graham (Irene) Thompson; brother Percy Thompson; sister Victoria Moar; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Mary (William) Sinclair and Irma (Henry) Desjarlais; brother-in-law John (Rosaleen) Sanderson; special friend Joe Anderson of Fairford. Gibson was predeceased by his parents, daughter Teanie and infant son Pete. A wake service will be held on Thursday, November 9 at 8:00 p.m. and Friday, November 10 at 8:00 p.m. at the Little Saskatchewan Pentecostal Church, Little Saskatchewan, Man. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 11 at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Alex Marsden and Asst. Pastor Gerald Anderson will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Little Saskatchewan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Samuel Sumner, Kevin McKay, Ken Thompson, Ivor Traverse, Robert Shorting and Henry Desjarlais.
