Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER OHIRKO Walter, a treasured husband, dad, and GiGi, died suddenly but peacefully on November 9, 2000 at the age of 63. He will be deeply and sadly missed by his loving wife of 38 years, Stephanie; and his children, son Michael (Helen), daughter Jillean (Carlo Puleo) and daughter Corinne; grandchildren, Michael, Vanessa, and Makenna; and extended Dmytriw and Tressel families. Predeceased by his mother Katrina 1958, father Alexander 1970, sister Jenny Robinson 1960 and father-in-law Joseph Dmytriw 1992. Walter was born June 12, 1937 in Winnipeg, MB and married Stephanie in 1962. Together with Michael, Jill and Cori on the way they moved to Coquitlam in 1968. Walter was very active in the community. You could always find him at the curling rinks, lacrosse boxes, sports fields, and volunteering for community events. Walter was a Coquitlam counsellor for two terms, always striving to better the community in which we lived. He loved singing and dancing, whether it was with his grandchildren or with the Maple Leaf Singers, you could see the joy it brought him. A teller of stories and jokes he always had time for his friends. Above all he was a dedicated family man. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, November 15 at the Coquitlam Alliance Church, 2601 Spuraway Ave., Coquitlam.
