SANDRA MAE TOMSIC (nee KRAINYK) May 24, 1954 - December 19, 2000 After a courageous battle against Leukemia, beloved wife and mother, Sandra, passed away peacefully at Vita and District Health Centre, Vita, MB. Sandra will be sadly missed and leaves to cherish her memory her husband Jerry and daughters, Cara, Cori and Cari (Mikey) sisters, Isabel Berkowski of Winnipeg, Myrna Krainyk of Piney, Brenda Derbowka and Lou Peltier of Winnipeg; brother Myron Krainyk and wife Carol of Knowlton, PQ; in-laws the Tomsic family, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and all who knew her. Sandra was one of six daughters and two sons born to the late Bill and Olga Krainyk. She was raised in Piney and made Piney her home along with her husband Jerry and daughters. Sandra was employed as a HCA at Vita PCH for the past 6 years. She loved her job caring for the elderly and the many friends (coworkers) she made while working there. We the family wish to extend our deepest gratitude to the doctors, nursing staff and HCAs of Vita Hospital and D-6 at Health Sciences Centre for their thoughtfulness, wonderful care and support they gave throughout Moms illness. A very special thanks goes out to all of her friends from the Vita PCH, we love you all. Mom was very fortunate to have friends like you. A memorial service will be held in Piney at the International Christian Fellowship Church, Thursday, December 28 at 1:00 p.m. with Shirley Watt (sister-in-law) officiating. We watched you fight courageously a woman of strength and strong will. We are proud to call you "My wife" and "Our mother". We love you and will sadly miss you but will always have your memories of you to cherish. God saw you getting tired And a cure was not to be, He put his arms around you And said "Come unto Me."
