BERTHA GRACE PRICE On Tuesday, January 2, 2001 at her residence Bertha Grace Price passed away at the age of 93. Bertha was predeceased by her parents, Robert Henry and Lila Darling; her husband Verne Gardiner Price in 1981 and her sister Evelyn Nora McLean in 1969. She is survived by her niece Sandy Carstens (Robert) of Winnipeg and great nieces, Tracy Carstens of Winnipeg and Lindsay Strickland (Rick) of Fort Frances, Ontario. She will fondly be remembered by her cousins and her dear friend of many years, Olive Thorkelson. She was employed by the Royal Bank of Canada for many years and later by the Bank of Nova Scotia. Bertha and Verne spent many happy years farming in Headingley before retiring in 1963. Friends and family will remember Berthas artistic talent and many hours spent gardening, painting and knitting and especially her kindness and generosity to everyone. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald Street, Winnipeg R3B 2H8 or the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children c/o Shrine House, 1155 Wilkes Avenue, Winnipeg R3P 1B9.
