Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL J. OCHITWA Peacefully on February 23, 2001, Mike passed away at Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 75 years. Mike was born November 10, 1925 in Mikado, Sask., the second son of Joseph and Winnie (Wasyliw) Ochitwa. Mike attended the Mikado School for his Elementary and High School education. He joined the Navy and served in the Second World War. After his discharge from the Navy he was diagnosed with MS, however, while in remission was able to work at various construction jobs including working with his father for several different companies, building roads and dams in Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and B.C. In 1958 Mike settled in Winnipeg where he worked for Ross Equipment until his retirement in 1989. He married Patricia Burdey on October 6, 1973 in Winnipeg. Mike was predeceased by his wife Patricia on June 7, 1976; by his father, September 1971; his mother, July, 2000 and niece Deanna Lidgett, January, 2001. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 28 at 2:00 p.m. at The Chapel of the Good Shepherd, 2235 Silver Ave., off Whytewold Road. At the familys request, flowers are kindly declined.
