NELLIE POPOVITCH (KALINOWICH) In loving memory of Nellie (Kalinowich) Popovitch, age 84 of Dryden, who passed away Saturday, February 24, 2001 at the Longtern Care Facility in Dryden, Ont. Nellie was born in Zvynyach, Chortikiv-Raion, Ukraine and immigrated to Canada in 1921 with her parents to the small farming community of Ethelbert, Man. Nellie was married to John Popovitch in 1939 at Copper Cliff, Ont. She also resided in Windsor, Ont. and was a long time resident of Burlington. She moved to Dryden in 2000 to be near her family. Nellie is survived by son Michael (Susan) Popovitch of Simsbury, Connecticut; daughter Linda (Wayne) Calbeck of Dryden, Ont. and many nieces and nephews. Nellie was predeceased by her husband John in 1996; infant son Edward; brothers, Steve and Andrew, and sister Annie Komarnisky. Funeral services for the late Nellie Popovitch will be held on Tuesday, February 27 at 3:00 p.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home with Rev. Father Luigi Fillippini officiating. Interment to take place at Halton Hills, Burlington, Ont. Should friends so desire, donations may be made to the Childrens Wish Foundation or the Dryden Humane Society through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk Ave., Dryden, ON, P8N 2X3.
