Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRED C. THOM Suddenly, but peacefully, at his residence on Sunday, February 25, 2001, Fred C. Thom passed away. He was the eldest son of Henry and Lilian Thom. He was born on December 17, 1923. Dad grew up in the East Kildonan area. He enlisted as a volunteer in the Royal Canadian Navy Reserve. He served as a coder on the vessels Chippawa and Stradacona from December 17, 1942 until his discharge on November 7, 1945. Upon arriving home, he met and married Evelyn M. Cassie on May 31, 1947. They resided in East Kildonan for a short time and then moved to Charleswood. Dad was employed by CNCP Telecommunications. He retired in 1983. He had many interests. Dad was a Mason as well as a Shriner. He also enjoyed his many trips to B.C. with Evelyn, visiting friends and relatives. Fred was predeceased by his wife Evelyn in 1992. Fred is survived by his son Bryan (Brenda, Stacey and Kyle) his daughter Arlene (Steve, Chad and Kevin) as well as one brother Hank. Many thanks to the folks at Fred Douglas Residence as well as Dr. B. Rumbolt. At Dads request, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Flowers are gratefully declined.
