ANNIE PUKALO Annie Pukalo went to her heavenly home on March 8, 2001 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Annie Pukalo, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the age of 85 years. She is survived by her son Syd Pukalo (Marie) of Winnipeg; her daughters, Jeanette Block and Evangeline Bolianaz, both of Winnipeg, and her son Bill Pukalo (Louise) of Winnipeg Beach, MB; grandchildren, Rick Pukalo (Beverly), Diana Smith, Rodney Bolianaz, Wendy Nowakowski (Ken), Jody Block, Greg Block (Bonnie), Tony Pukalo (Colleen), Terry Pukalo, and Billy Pukalo; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Hilary, Adam and Nicole Pukalo, Jennifer and Jordan Nowakowski, Jesse Browne, Stefan and Haley Bolianaz, Marshall Block, Taylor Pukalo and Zachary Block. She also leaves to mourn her passing her sisters, Teenie Prokopski, Violet Therreault (Albert), Doris Tataryn (Nick), Annette Ryder and her brother Mike Dmytrow and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Anastasia and Wasyl Dmytrow; her granddaughter Shannon Alaine Pukalo; her great-grandson Jason Kyle Nowakowski; her brothers, Peter, Nick and John Dmytrow; her sisters, Mary Prokopski and Pauline Dmytrow and her sister-in-law Anne Dmytrow. Annie was born in Prawda, MB on June 7, 1915, fourth in a family of 11 children. At the age of 18 she married William Pukalo in Winnipeg and resided in Prawda until April, 1944 where they moved to McGregor Rd. in Birds Hill until 1950 where she then moved with her family to Winnipeg. She lived her final years at the Ivan Franko Manor and the Rosh Pina Housing Cooperative. Annie was a loving and caring mother. Her greatest joy was when the family would come over to visit, especially at Easter and Christmas. She always had a welcoming smile, and food on the table for all. She loved her grandchildren and was always happy when they came to visit. The family would like to thank the hospital staff on Level 3, U4 at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and attention to Mom. Acting pallbearers are her six grandsons, Rick Pukalo, Rodney Bolianaz, Gregory Block, Anthony Pukalo, Terrence Pukalo and Billy Pukalo. Prayers will be held on Sunday, March 11 at 3:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 12 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Aikens and Burrin, West Kildonan. Interment will follow in Prawda, MB with Fr. Art Seaman officiating. Thanks for the years you gave us, And for the precious times we shared, We only pray when you left us You knew how much we cared.
