ROBERT GEORGE RAWLUK November 7, 1939 - March 8, 2001 With sadness and grace we announce that Robert George Rawluk, 61, of Sandy Lake, MB passed away peacefully after a short illness at Erickson District Health Centre on March 8, 2001. Robert was born November 7, 1939 in Winnipeg and grew up on the family farm at St. Martin, MB. At the age of 16 he began a 24 year career with the Bank of Commerce, transferring to branches throughout Manitoba and NW Ontario. Following that, Robert was employed with the Credit Union, MTS, Trans-Canada Pipeline and Lewis Cattle Oilers. He greatly enjoyed his last few years as a bus driver with the Rolling River School Division. Robert will be sadly missed by his wife Irene (nee Fehr) daughter Lindsay; Candace and her husband Tom Gronwald and two dear grandsons, Tristan and Evan. Also surviving are his five brothers, Ronnie, Roger, Roderick, Henry, David and their families; aunts, uncles and cousins. Robert is mourned by Irenes brothers, sisters, their families and her mother, Eva Fehr. Robert was predeceased by his parents, John and Violet Rawluk. Comfortable in his niche of school bus driving, neighbours, friends, community and family - Rob was kind and generous, willing to lend a hand or offer an opinion - unassuming in his own way. He loved to socialize, meet new people and spend time with his two grandsons. Pallbearers are David Rawluk, Don Stobbe, John Burdeny, Raymond Lewandoski, Marvin Kowalchuk and Reg Buss. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 10 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sandy Lake Community Parish Hall with Rev. Bob Hunter. Interment to follow in the Sandy Lake Municipal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to a childrens charity of your choice. Raes Funeral Service of Shoal Lake in care of arrangements.
