CHARLES PAUL RATZ It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Charles Paul Ratz, age 79 years of Hilbre, MB, on March 16, 2001 at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, MB. Charlie was born March 19, 1921 in Hilbre. Charlie farmed in the Hilbre area all of his adult life and also was the CEO of Ratz Enterprises (Excavating, Road Building, etc.). He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling and camping. Charlie leaves to mourn two daughters, Brenda (Casey) Borotsik of Winnipeg, MB, grandchildren, Kayla and Shara; Lyn (Wilfred) Carbonneau, grandchildren, Candace and Steven of Ashern, MB; daughter-in-law Ruby of Hilbre, granddaughter Rhonda; brother Harry; sister Elsie; also many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Ethel; one son Bill and a grandson Bill Jr. At his request, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service is being held at the Hilbre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd., Winnipeg, MB.
