"I shall return to take you to myself, so that you may be with me where I am." (Jn 14:3). After a 22 month long battle with mesothelioma, Jean left this world holding his wifes hand, on March 17, 2001, at St. Boniface General Hospital. Now safe in the bosom of the Lord, he can continue to watch over his family from the place Jesus prepared for him in Our Fathers house. Jean leaves to cherish his memory his three sons, Sebastien, Frederic, and Gabriel; and his wife Dominique. Along with his godsons, Robert Swait and Thomas Winget; his father-in-law Robert Legrand; and sister-in-law Yannick (Brian) Polejewski; as well as two nephews, four nieces, one grandnephew, a few aunts and uncles and numerous cousins will mourn his passing. Jean worked as a power engineer at 175 Hargrave St. from 1983 to December 31, 1999. Many of the tenants continue to speak glowingly of Jean. His unfailing willingness to be of service, his ever-present courtesy, his unwavering smile (as well as that heart-stopping dimple in his right cheek), combined to make him a trusted employee of O & Y Enterprise and a greatly appreciated engineer at 175 Hargrave as well as at 330 St. Mary, where he often lent a hand or covered the holiday absences of that buildings engineer. Family and friends will gather at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 24 at Our Lady of Hope R.C. Church (on Highway 15, one mile west of Anola) to celebrate the life of Jean through liturgy and fellowship. Flowers are gratefully declined, but donations may be made to the Childrens Wish Foundation at 350 St. Mary Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J2, or to the Our Lady of Hope Vocations Fund/Fonds des vocations de Notre-Dame dEsperance, Box 265, Anola, MB R0E 0A0; the latter was established at the time of Gabriels baptism. Funeral arrangements are in the care of LeClaire Brothers at 775-2220.
