FLORENCE LILLIAN NOYES After a long and full life of 83 years, our beloved mother, grandmother and friend died suddenly at home on Friday, April 27, 2001. Florence was born June 21, 1917, in the Icelandic community of Arborg, and lived there until at 16 she moved to Winnipeg and business college training. In the winter of 1941 she met Bill, the love of her life, who she married on September 5 that year and who predeceased her in 1984. Florence leaves a large and loving family with fond memories including her son Bill and his wife Carol, grandchildren Sara, Steve, Aimee, Brendan, and Aaron, and great-granddaughter Miranda, and our many wonderful cousins. Florence treasured her many friendships and while she has just rejoined many of them, she leaves behind numerous friends she enjoyed so much. Whether we knew her as Amma, Grandma, Auntie or Mom, we knew Florence as a woman of many joys and accomplishments. Her sewing, knitting, cooking and baking were deep sources of pride and always treasured by us all. Mom also took great pride in her work as a secretary and office manager retiring from Sterling Engine Works in 1978. Funeral ceremony will take place in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway on Monday, April 30 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those who wish are invited to donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
