ROBERT KRIS PROKOP
Date of Passing: May 18, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT KRIS PROKOP It is with great sadness that I have to announce the passing of Robert Kris Prokop on Friday, May 18, 2001 at Seven Oaks General Hospital. Quietly and peacefully, Robert slipped away in his sleep. Robert had just turned 84 in April. A veteran of the Second World War, Robert volunteered for the Canadian Artillery in 1940, but was later transferred to the Infantry, where he served with the Royal Edmonton Regiment in North Africa and Italy. Later in retirement, Robert would face another battle with diabetes, which he managed for 20 years. He had a passion for gardening, and he loved to grow tomatoes. Robert was predeceased by his wife Anne (nee Shastal) his sister Hilda and his mother. He leaves to mourn his sons, Richard and Dan (Helen) sister Jennie (nee Neil) brothers and sisters-in-law, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and family and friends should remember and celebrate his life privately, in a manner which they feel is appropriate. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for making his last days as comfortable as possible. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roberts memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0S6. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements - 586-8044.
