DANIEL BUTLER With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, on June 10, 2001. He will be fondly remembered by his wife Annette; cherished daughter Nadine (Pat) devoted son Marc; adored grandchildren, Liam and Danielle; brothers, Sam Butler and Howard Levant. Danny was born in Saskatchewan and at the tender age of six came to live in the Jewish Orphanage in Winnipeg with his siblings. There he found another hundred "brothers" and "sisters" many of whom he stayed close to this day. Later he found warmth and love in the home of Mary and Louis London with whom he was in close business partnership. Together they ran Playland at Winnipeg Beach for over two decades and upon Louis passing and Marys retirement he continued on with the business receiving a plaque from the Winnipeg Beach Chamber of Commerce in 1993 for 50 years of service to the community. Many lasting friendships came to be as a result and he was known for his fairness and integrity. Danny leaves his second family, sisters, Lil, Judy Bager (Norman), brother and best friend Jack London (Belva) and their families. Also left are a niece Heather; nephew Roddy and his family in British Columbia, nephew Gerard in Winnipeg; cousins, Sandra and Rachelle and a host of good friends. Sorely mourning him is a large "in-law" family in France. Funeral services were held at the Rosh Pina Synagogue on July 11, 2001. Pallbearers were Marc Butler, Jack London, Steven Bager, Les Rykiss, Gerard Leuchter and Hart Mallin. Honorary pallbearers were Herschy Braunstein, Bill Itskow, Pat Doyle and Boris Znidarec. If so desired, donations to the Rosh Pina Synagogue will be appreciated. Rest In Peace Danny. We love you!
