Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET MARJORIE BEIRNES Suddenly, on Tuesday, June 19, 2001, Marjorie passed away peacefully, in the arms of her children, at the Seven Oaks Hospital. Marjorie is survived by her husband Lloyd; and her eight loving children, Ron (Jing), Richmond, BC; Mary Lou (Larry), Winnipeg; Ray (Annie), Calgary; Lynn (Gary), Victoria, BC; Terry (Martine), Edmonton; and Dawn, Howie (Shelly) and Patrick (Karen) all of Winnipeg. She is also loved and admired by her grandchildren, who will miss her dearly. Marjorie was born in Wellsdale, AB on October 29, 1917 to Eli and Mary Ann Sweet, who predeceased her along with her brothers, Neil and Roy; and sister Lila Oram. She will be missed by her only surviving brother Veril, of Vermillion, AB and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mom spent her whole life raising and caring for her children. She was known for her hospitality and especially her baking. Her butter tarts traveled from the East Coast when Ron was in the Navy, to the West Coast where Lynn resides. She also learned to embroider when she was a young girl and one of her first pieces adorned her wall for many years. Family and friends will treasure the Star gingham tablecloths she spent many hours embroidering. Im sure we all still have a few pairs of socks that she embroidered our initials on so we wouldnt get them mixed up in the wash. Mom also enjoyed playing Bingo and reading her Harlequin Romance novels. She was happiest spending time with her children and grandchildren. Once we spread out across the country, she got the travel bug and would go visiting as often as possible. In May, 1997, Mom moved to the Maples Personal Care Home, where she made a lot of friends and continued her passion for Bingo and reading. She also developed a new passion for getting her hair done every week and having her nails polished. We would like to thank the staff of the Maples Personal Care Home for the kindness and compassion they have shown to our mother and ourselves. According to Moms wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, June 25 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Marjories memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. "Mom, we will miss you and love you forever" CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements 586-8044.
