VERONICA (FRANCES) RANICK (DAMSCHEN) (nee VOCHT) Peacefully on Monday, June 25, 2001, Frances Ranick passed away at the Health Sciences Centre. Born August 1, 1908 in Kranzberg, Austria, Frances came to Canada in 1928. She was predeceased by first husband E. Damschen in 1967 and by her second husband J. Ranick in 2000; as well as two sisters and one brother in Germany. Frances will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. She leaves to mourn her passing her stepfamily, son Ken (Joan) Ranick; daughter Janet (Allan) Boyda; granddaughter Charlene (Ross) Enns; great-grandchildren, Kyla and Alex Enns; grandson Jason Boyda and fiancee Diane Eckert and son Dillon; as well as her nephew Siegmund (Helga) Geib; one sister; and nieces and nephews in Germany. Frances was a gentle person who loved life and people. She was happiest when she could be in her cottage in Grand Marais where she spent many, many summers. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the physicians and staff at GH4 at the Health Sciences Centre. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 29 at 11:00 a.m. at McClure Place, McClure United Church, 533 Greenwood Pl., with Rev. Hugo Unruh officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined.
