Annie (Wilson), daughter of Theophilus and Elizabeth (Coulter) Wilson, oldest of eleven children, is lovingly remembered by daughter Janet Hubeli of Portage la Prairie; sons, Albert (Irene) Thomson of Port Albernie, BC, and Murray (Marilyn) Thomson of Kamloops, BC; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Fuller of Vancouver, BC, and Janet Martin of Neepawa, MB; sister-in-law Phyllis Wilson of Mesa, AZ; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband James A. in 1940; son-in-law Raymond Hubeli; great-granddaughter Shasta Dawn Thomson; six brothers and two sisters. Annie was born in Glenella on April 5, 1900. She received her education at Molesworth and Tenby schools. On December 8, 1920 she married Jim. They made their home in the Tupper District, raising their family and mixed farming. She made costumes for Christmas concerts, played the organ, taught sewing and cooking to the young people of the district, as well as teaching Sunday School at West and East Tupper. In 1942 Annie moved her family to Plumas where they operated a dairy. Her two sons delivered milk to many families. Annie continued with her community work. She was a member of the Plumas United Church Choir, Sunday School, UCW, Explorers, Patriotic Rebekah Lodge No. 50, Ladies Curling Club, Senior Citizens Centre, and was secretary-treasurer for the Plumas School District and the Agricultural Society. In 1989, Annie moved to Portage la Prairie to the Odd Fellows Towers where she kept up an active life until May 2001. She was a member of McKenzie United Church, Unit 11 UCW, Ruth Rebekah Lodge, After Five, Rebekah and Odd Fellows Bowling League, which she looked forward to every Friday night. She also enjoyed her weekly outing to the Co-Op by bus, where she would meet with her grand-children on occasion for lunch. Annie enjoyed travelling, attending most weddings of her grandchildren in British Columbia, saw Canada from coast to coast, and made a trip to California. We remember Annie as a caring mother, grandmother, teacher and loving friend. Our family and many others have been blessed by her strong faith, her thankfulness for the life God gave her, and her courage in facing death. Our deepest gratitude to Dr. Carter for his care and concern and for the wonderful care given by the nursing staff on ETU. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 4 at 1:30 p.m. in the Plumas United Church, Plumas, MB with Rev. Leith Saunders officiating. In lieu of flowers we would request that you make a charitable donation to a charity of your choice. Clarkes Funeral Home, Gladstone in care of arrangements.
