ANNE PYLATYK It is with deep sorrow and love in our hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mom, dearest Baba and precious Bobbi, Anne Pylatyk, widow of Michael, on Saturday, August 11, 2001 at the Selkirk and District General Hospital. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Florence and Gordon MacCollum of Lockport; daughter-in-law Mildred Pylatyk of San Jose, CA; grandchildren, Carla (Bill) of San Jose, Craig of Lockport, Kerri (Ron) of Selkirk, and Michael of Selkirk. Also by her precious great-grandchildren, Brady and Shelby. Four sisters, Nellie Fedoruk and Bertha Zarowiecki of Winnipeg, Mary Lakusiak of Sarnia, ON, and Margaret Evely of Toronto, ON; sister-in-law Anne Sobkowich of Long Beach, CA; in-laws, Albert and Anne Federowich of Tolstoi, MB; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Anne was predeceased by her husband Michael in 1993, son Leonard in 1996, and grandson Jeffrey in 1994. Her parents, Samuel and Lena Sobkowich; and four brothers, Joe, John, Stanley, and Henry. Mom was born March 22, 1915 in Rossdale, MB and married Dad on November 19, 1933. They were lifelong members of Blessed Virgin Mary the Protectress Church, Rossdale, where some of her early cross-stitched linens still remain. Mom was a hard working, gentle, kind and soft spoken lady. Her faith in God and the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary sustained her through many difficult times in the past eight years. Even after suffering with several strokes, she never lost faith or questioned "Why Me?", or complained. Mom became a resident of Betel Home, Selkirk, on June 1, 2000 and adapted to her new surroundings with dignity and ease. We are very grateful and would like to express our sincerest thanks to the wonderful nurses and staff at Betel Home for their tender and compassionate care. Also many thanks to Drs. Hussain and Lindenschmidt and nurses at Selkirk Hospital for making her stays there as comfortable as possible. Prayer services will be held Wednesday, August 15 at 8:00 p.m. at the Blessed Virgin Mary The Protectress Church, 530 Donald Rd., Rossdale. Funeral mass will be held Thursday, August 16 at 10:00 a.m., also at the church, with Rev. Fr. Michael Winn officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Church Memorial Fund or a charity of ones choice. God looked around His garden And found an empty space, He then looked down upon this earth, And saw your tired face. He put His arms around you, And lifted you to rest. Gods garden must be beautiful. He only takes the best. FOREVER LOVED VICHNAYA PAMYAT Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
