DOROTHY MAGDALENE RANK (nee FINDLAY) Peacefully, on September 17, 2001 after a short illness Dorothy Rank of Lions Place and formerly of Grosse Isle, MB passed away at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 93. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Maryln (Merv) Boudah of Sault Ste. Marie, ON, son Gerald (Fran) of Saskatoon, SK, daughter Keitha (Andy) Smaha of Sandy Hook, MB, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Harry in 1978, brother Lloyd and sister Jean McGregor. Mom was born in Shoal Lake, MB and married Harry Rank of St. Rose du Lac in 1938. They farmed at Kelloe and then Grosse Isle, where they raised their family. She always considered Grosse Isle home. They moved to Winnipeg in 1964. She was a member of Knox Church and while living in Grosse Isle was involved with the Womens Institute. Mom enjoyed a good game of scrabble and doing the cryptoquote and crosswords in the newspaper. She spent many hours reading and doing various handicrafts. Mom was a strong, gentle caring woman with a great sense of humor. We will miss her so. The family would like to thank the staff on the 3rd floor at the Victoria Hospital, especially Faye; Jean and Drs. Dillon and Smelsky from Klinic, and the Home Care staff who so capably and lovingly cared for mom. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in Knox United Church Chapel (north door entrance on Edmonton Street) on Thursday, September 20 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. David Murata officiating. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Klinic Community Health Centre, 870 Portage Ave. or to a charity of your choice. Rest in Peace Mom.
