Predeceased by her devoted husband Asgeir Jonas (Thor). Lovingly missed by her children, Carole, Julian, David, Peter; daughter-in-law Beth; son-in-law Ralph; her grandchildren, Julianna, Andrew, Thor, Olivia and Katherine; and her sister Margaret James. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Delta Community Living Foundation. Heartfelt thanks to the Richmond Hospital Intensive Care Unit. Memorial service will be at the Unitarian Church of Vancouver, 949 W. 49th at Oak St., on Wednesday, September 19 at 11:00 a.m.

I met Mildred on only a couple of occasions, when she and Thor invited members of the Department of Entomology to their home on University Crescent. My sincere condolences, belated though they may be. One thing that has bothered me for many years, is the absence of an obituary for Thor in the entomological community in Manitoba. I have had many people ask me where he was or what he was doing. I have never been able to find a published obituary for Thor. There seems little chance, given the passage of time, that this message will be delivered to a family member, but if it does get to someone who can help me with this, I would like to publish a belated obituary in the Entomological Society of Manitoba Newsletter. Thor served on my graduate advisory committee from 1973-1977. Please contact me through the Department of Entomology at the University of Manitoba, 204-474-6024. Thanks you very much.
