ALICE WINNIFRED THOMPSON September 21, 1932 September 25, 2001 Peacefully at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, MB, Alice Winnifred Thompson of Little Saskatchewan First Nation, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, at the age of 69 years. Winnie leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, John (Alice) Thompson, Dave (Rose) Thompson, Andrew (Lillian) Thompson, George (friend Janine) Thompson, Graham Thompson; her daughters, Doreen (Sam) Sumner, Esther (Elmer) Chunick; her special grandchildren, Duane Thompson and Cheryl (Winston) Shorting, whom she raised; her favourite grandchild Dakota Thompson; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Mary (William) Sinclair, Irma (Henry) Desjarlais; brother Johnny (Rosaleen) Sanderson; Robert (Rose) Lavallee, whom she treated like her son; and special friends, Robert and Bev McLean and Edith Gagen. Winnie was predeceased by her husband Gibson Thompson on November 6, 2000; infant son Pete; daughter Teanie Thompson on January 31, 1981; parents, Jemima Sanderson on February 16, 1978 and Donald Sanderson on March 27, 1978; sister Louisa McLean on October 8, 1989; brother David Sanderson on October 20, 1998. Winnie was a loving mother and grannie who will always be loved and remembered. Winnie had many hobbies and pastimes which she enjoyed like listening to gospel music, knitting and sewing, chatting on the phone with her friends and she especially enjoyed visiting with her friends and family. She also attended camp meetings and loved to go to church. The family would like to thank the Chief and Council of the Little Saskatchewan First Nation, Dr. Marais and the staff at the Lakeshore General Hospital, nurse Robynn from the Dialysis Unit, all the people who came and visited and had prayers with Mom, Anderson Family Funeral Home, and special thanks to Jim Anderson, who gave her holy communion. Wake service will be held on Thursday, September 27 and Friday, September 28 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 29 at 1:00 p.m. Both services will be held at the Little Saskatchewan Pentecostal Church, Little Saskatchewan, MB, with Pastor Gerald Anderson and Jim Anderson officiating.
