BUDDY PORTIGAL Peacefully, on September 12, 2001 at Riverview Health Centre, Buddy Portigal passed away at the age of 71. He was predeceased by his father Samuel Portigal and his mother Bessie (Shatsky). Buddy is survived by his son Ian Portigal and wife Kelli, their children Taylor and David; his daughter Sherri Dennett and husband Alistair, their (step)children Rosalyn and Isaac; his sister Peggy Levine and husband Mickey, their children Gary, Tom and Bill; his sister Beverley Barron and husband Walter, their children Gerry, Ron and Tony. Dad had many interests. He enjoyed airplanes, trains and flashy cars. He loved music, especially Big Band and Jazz; in his youth he played the clarinet and tenor sax in a jazz band. He was always singing which was wonderful on our long car trips together. Dad always enjoyed fixing things; it is no wonder that he was a plumber for many years. He took great pride in having a nice workshop with many tools. His collection of plumbing parts was very impressive. More than anything, Dad will be remembered for his amazing sense of humour. He always appreciated a good joke and loved telling them, sometimes repeating them hundreds of times over many years. How many times will we say: Dad would have loved that? We miss his laughter everyday and will love him always. Donations may be made in Buddys memory to the Canadian Diabetes Society or Habitat For Humanity.
